*IPDS/*AFPDS spool file printing HELP.
Hi all, just wondering if you might know the answer to this tricky issue I can't work around.
We want to print an *AFPDS spool file then duplicate the same spool file and reprint the second spool file with a different overlay (i.e. generate an original invoice, then duplicate the invoice and use an 'Office Copy' overlay). If the spool file is *IPDS, we can do this by using the DUPSPLF then CHGSPLFA commands with no problems. However, for some reason, you can't use the CHGSPLFA command to change the FRONTOVL parameter for *AFPDS spool files?? i.e. Using the CHGSPLFA command to change the FRONTOVL parameter is limited to *IPDS only? Has anyone experienced this issue before? Alex |

An IBM support database that I found on the issue of not being able to run CHGSPLFA DUPLEX(*YES) for an AFPDS spooled file suggests that you use CHGPRTF (or OVRPRTF as well) to set your desired parameter for the printer file you use and then regenerate the AFPDS spooled file once more.
